New COVID Info from Lambton Public Health
Hello Parents, LSMHA has received new information regarding travel and vaccinations from Lambton Public Health.  Below, you will find information on travelling outside of Canada and vaccine eligibility for youth turning 12.

1) GUIDANCE REGARDING YOUTH WHO MAY BE TRAVELLING OUTSIDE OF CANADA
Please follow up with Lambton Public Health directly if you have any questions.

Due to recent enquiries regarding extracurricular activities following travel outside of Canada during the holidays, the following information pertains to LSMHA players.

Children under 12 years of age (unless fully vaccinated) that travel outside of Canada (e.g. USA, international) are not permitted to return to group settings (e.g. school, daycare, team sports, band practice etc.) for 14 days upon their return to Canada. This includes team activities where the children are part of a group, regardless of size (e.g. dance troupe, hockey, gymnastics). Only fully vaccinated travelers (e.g. 2 COVID-19 doses, plus 14 days) that provide a negative COVID-19 molecular test upon their return to Canada are exempt from this requirement.

For more information, please refer to the
COVID-10: Requirements for fully vaccinated travelers and unvaccinated children less than 12 years of age document.  Or, contact [email protected] .

2) VACCINE ELIGIBILITY - YOUTH TURNING 12

The following information is from Lambton Public Health.

Vaccine Eligibility for Youth turning 12:

As we head into the new year, Lambton County youth who are turning 12 years of age within 6 months are permitted to be vaccinated against COVID-19. Expanding vaccine eligibility will facilitate full vaccination of those turning 12 early in the new year, thus meeting the vaccine requirements that enable them to continue to participate in their sports while keeping the community safe. It is important to share this information with any sports organizations and groups that this will impact.

Lambton Public Health has several upcoming clinics that will provide walk-in vaccination options to all eligible persons.
