What to Expect at My Child's First Ice Time
Submitted By Heather George on Wed 09 16, 20
 Players and parent’s won’t be able to enter the arena until 15 minutes before the start of the their scheduled ice time HOWEVER we encourage you to arrive before then and stay outside the arena so that all of the registration process can be completed before you enter the arena.  All players under the age of 18 must have a parent / legal guardian present for the first skate to complete all paperwork.

 Heather George & Lorna Nieuwenhuizen will be set up outside of the front arena doors to finish the registration process for all players/families. Please bring these completed forms with you as they must be on file BEFORE your player can enter the arena for their first ice time. All of these forms can be found on the website under the registration tab.

o Registration form (one per player)
o Rowan’s Law form (one per player)
o Medical form (one per player)
o COVID compliance form (one per player)
o $500 volunteer cheque (one per family postdated to Jan 15/2021)

 The player will be required to sign in and complete the required health assessment questions. The parent will be required to sign in on the Lambton shores facility log.

 One parent will be allowed to accompany the player into the arena. However, please remember parents are not allowed in the dressing to assist the players with getting dressed as the maximum number of individuals permitted in the dressing rooms is 11. Skates can be tied in the hallway behind the benches, but physical distancing still must be maintained. As soon as the player’s skates have been tied, parents must proceed to the arena stands, as no one is permitted to watch from the lobby.

 Showers will not be available in the dressing rooms and all players and families must exit the facilities within 15 minutes of the conclusion of the ice time.

 Please remind your player that a face mask (disposable or cloth) must be worn in the dressing room at all times, until they have their helmet on and are directly proceeding to the ice surface.

 At 10 minutes after the start of the ice time (ex 5:10pm) a brief parent meeting will be held outside of the front doors of the arena. This meeting will give a short update on our return to play plan and COVID procedures.

 As with all ice times throughout the season everyone will be responsible to adhering to the new procedures and processes that are place by both the Municipality of Lambton Shores & Minor hockey, including masks, physical distancing, and using the proper entry/exit doors. There are numerous signs located throughout the facility to provide additional details related to the facility requirements.

 If you have any questions in advance of your first ice time please feel free to contact Lorna Nieuwenhuizen at [email protected]
