Major Novice Black Silverstick Finalists!
Submitted By Heather George on Wed 02 26, 20
Lambton Shores Major Novice Black along with Major Novice Red competed and hosted Silverstick in Forest this past weekend.

In the round robin Major Novice Black had a very tough pool, but with hard work and great team work, they won all 3 games finishing first in their pool. Every game was a battle but the Major Novice Black's 5 defence (Landon Boris, Logan George, Luke George, Nyasia Shawnoo, Kylee Wolfe) and their goalie (Briar Minielly) battled hard and shut their opponents down.

In the quarterfinals, Major Novice Black faced Mt Brydges. Once again with strong defence and well timed goals, they had a big 4-1 win. Earning a spot in a nail biting semifinal game against  Lambton Shores Red team.

In the semifinal, both teams took to the ice in front of a packed Thedford arena. After the 1st period, it was tied 1-1. In the 2nd, Major Novice Black took the lead with both teams battling hard and team black leading in third by a score of 5-3.  In true Predators fashion, Major Novice Red Team scored a late goal to make an exciting finish.  Major Novice Black won with a final score of 5-4 and earned a spot in the finals.   Both goalies played amazing. The game could of went either way and both teams didn't disappoint an arena full proud parents and fans.

In the final game Major Novice Black played against a very strong Southwest Bullets team. Again it was a back and forth game. After 2 periods, Preds were down 2-1. Southwest got a quick one in the 3rd and another late one to unfortunately win the game 4-1.

The whole weekend was a huge team effort. Our Preds showed true teamwork and perseverance by playing through injuries, exhaustion. Congratulations Predators!  We are all so proud of how you represented our organization!

CONGRATULATIONS ON SILVERSTICK FINALISTS!
