Major Novice Black Tournament Finalists!
On the weekend our Major Novice Black competed in the Woolwich Cup held in Elmira. It was our kids first ever Tournament.

We had a great start by defeating a good Woolwich Wildcats team 6-3. In our second game we played Kincardine Lil Diggers. The kids did their best but couldn't get one past a solid goalie. We ended up losing 3-0 to very good all around team. In our final must win round robin game against Huron/Bruce, our Preds came out flying scoring a couple quick goals. They never slowed down and came out with a big 8-0 win, setting up a semifinal game against 1st place Kincardine Lil Bullshooters Sunday morning. The Lil Bullshooters dominated their pool and looked to do same against us, as they took an early lead. Halfway through the second we were down 3-1 when we scored a well timed goal that fueled our little Predators. We scored the next 3 goals to make it 5-3. Kincardine got one late but the kids held them off to earn a trip to the finals. In the finals we played the Kincardine Lil Diggers, the same team we lost to in round robin play. It was a good back and forth first period but after the second we were down 3-1. We got a big goal with just under 4 minutes left, making for an exciting end of the game. With just 8 seconds left, we broke out of our end and after a nice pass to the net, we unfortunately came up just short. All the coaches and parents are super proud of these kids. They fought and never quit literally to last second. A big shout out to our little goalie Briar Minielly. He  stood in the net like he was 6 feet tall and made save after save. The whole team did an amazing job.
