Updated Information on IP/Tyke/Novice
The Instructional Program is for 4,5 and 6 year olds. The 4 y/o are now called "pre-school" and are in our Instructional program. The 5 and 6 y/o are "IP" and are to play cross-ice games only as well as practices.
There will be no league for 5 and 6 y/o (formerly Tyke) but coaches will be able to schedule cross-ice ex. games with other teams.
The new Tyke division is for 7 y/o and the LMLL has decided not to have a league for this age. All 7 y/o will be allowed to play Novice this season. This will be the same as last year for the novice division with the exception that no 6 y/o will be allowed to play or ap to novice since this is jumping two age groups. That is mandated by Hockey Canada and is not up for debate.
LSMHA will work together with the coaches to make sure the season is enjoyable and rewarding for all involved and we just ask that the parents and players have patience and an open mind going in to this change.
