Novice Black in the Win Column again
Novice Black fresh off a hard fought tie in Watford on Saturday, hosted Strathroy Red Tuesday night in Thedford.  The Legacy Centre was buzzing as the fans were eager to see if these young preds could build on the solid effort of last Saturday.

Novice Black would not disappoint as they came flying full of determination to show Strathroy what they're all about.

After a scoreless 1st period, it would only take a minute into the second for young Jack (Get-er-done) Rombouts to put the Preds ahead 1-0, assisting on Jack's goal was Tanner George, but 19 seconds later Strathroy would reply with one of their own.  Then with 2 minutes left in the 2nd, Curtis (the Bullet) Boere would bend the twine for the home team to put them ahead 2-1, assisting on Curtis's goal was Ian (Smooth hands) Stewardson who is enjoying himself a nice points streak.  Then with just 3 seconds left Hayden (the Sniper) Wilson would strike to put the home side up 3-1 at the end of 2 periods.  Collecting assists on Hayden's goal were Taryn (sour key) King and Hannah (mean Jean) Poland.

The 3rd would end up scoreless as Novice Black would hold off a later charge from the visitors and skate away with the 3-1 victory.

These young preds continue to surprise this reporter, with some excellent passes to break out of their zone and some aggressive play digging for rebounds.  It was also nice to see a balanced attack, with each line contributing a goal and every player backchecking hard to keep Strathroy off the scoresheet.

Outstanding job Novice Black!!!!
