Game 2 vs North Middlesex
Atom LL's second game featured non-stop end to end action. Way to hustle Preds! The first period ended after much back and forth and some furious activity in each end, but both goalies kept the game at 0-0.
The fierce battle waged into the second. Goalie Sammy Dobroski made some heartstopping saves before one slipped past him late in the period. Our defense was ferocious, stealing chances from the North Middlesex Stars. Not to be outdone, our forwards pressed on. #17 Darryl Ireland stole the puck off a Stars player deep in their zone and some great passes and fighting for the puck by the Preds almost put one in. #11 Hunter Cable challenged the Stars netminder with a few good slapshots. Keep workin' it Hunter, you'll get one in!
Down by only one goal, the Preds started the 3rd pumped to even the score. #3 Willie VanBeek chased a pass up the ice for a break away shot on net, which the Stars goalie just got a piece of it to maintain their one goal lead. Not to be detered, the Preds fought on and #19, defenseman Spencer Prong, turned on the speed to chase down two Stars players racing to our net and helped our goalie stonewall the Stars last good scoring chance.
