Another 2 strong outings for the Novice Black. Saturday we were off to Mt. Brydges to take on the gold cougars. Liam was outstanding between the pipes and his team mates were working hard around him. After giving up the early lead, the Preds fought back with a blistering shot from Hannah that would fool the likes of any goaltender to tie the game.
The cougars responded with another goal shortly after to re- claim
the lead, but Taylor was quick to respond with a quick one of his own. It
was back and forth action to the final buzzer, with the Cougars ending up on
top. Final score, Preds 2, Cougars 5. Assist were given to Jace,
Tyler, Hayden, and also the worker of the game Liam.
Sunday afternoon saw another clash between our Preds and the
East Lambton White eagles. After giving up a goal on our first shift, it
was clear the eagles had come to play. The Preds once again, like the day
before, were quick to respond with two quick goals by Ashton giving us the
lead. But the Eagles were not going to give up that easy, and tied the
game up late in the second. The third period brought more of the same,
with end to end action and the goalies making save after save. Both the
Eagles and the Predators scored one more time a piece, our third goal is the
mystery goal, it was scored on a wrap around from Ashton, but may have
bounced off of Evan, yet the referee gave it to Taylor who was on the bench at
the time, which would have been one fancy move. An assist was given to
Evan, and the worker of the game went to Abby. Final score, Preds 3,
Eagles 3.
