Novice Black are Moving On!!!!
Submitted By Jodie Poland on Monday, February 18, 2013
What a busy but exciting weekend of Hockey.  The Thedford tournament was excellent, with all players, coaches and parents having a great time.  Our team was strong and solid, and played hard in all three games.  Liam was outstanding and showed everyone why he is our number 1 goalie.  Our defence was amazing with Rayna, Abby, Matthew, and Bryce standing tall and holding the line, while our offence was a force up front, with Evan, Jace, Brent, Taylor, Hannah, Benny, Ashton, Tyler, and Hayden battling for the loose pucks in the corners.

Although we didn’t win our games, we were able to take first place in the skills competition.

Game 1

Preds 2, Lambeth 3

Goals by: Brent, and Evan            Assist by: Brent

Game 2

Preds 0, Paris 1

Game 3

Preds 1, Lucan 3

Goals by: Evan   Assist by: Brent

Monday we were back to playoffs and back to Port Stanley for game 3.  Once again we were strong, fast, and ready to play.  Position wise we were great, and our puck movement was excellent.  The only slip up we had, was when coach Mike locked Benny and his mom Kerri in the dressing room when we were heading out to the ice, but thanks to Jeremy who came to the rescue.   Everyone should be proud of how they played in this series, they all worked hard and it was a true team effort.

Preds 6, Port Stanley 2   (Preds sweep the series with 3 straight wins)

Goals by: Evan (4), Matthew, Jace            Assists by:  Brent (2), Jace (2), Bryce
