Another strong outing for the Novice Black, with Strathroy Blue in town for a re-match. With Liam in net, and Matthew, Rayna, Bryce, and Benny rock solid on defence, the Preds hit the ice with confidence, determination and skill.
After giving up a first period goal to
Strathroy, the Preds dug deep and fought back with amazing team play and hard
work to tie the game on a goal by Taylor. With the bench a buzz,
Strathroy quickly regained the lead, early in the second, but again the Preds
were not going to give up. With a Strathroy penalty the Preds decided it
was time to strike, and strike hard. Brent quickly scored to tie the game
at 2, and before we knew it Brent scored again to take the lead on a pass from
Jace. But they were not done yet, Brent scored again moments later from
another pass from Jace giving the Preds a 2 goal lead. Strathroy would
get one more, but with .5 seconds left, Jace scored an empty net goal off a
critical faceoff win by Hannah to seal the win. Final score Preds 5,
Strathroy 3. Worker of the game hat went to Brent.
Excellent job guys!!!! We are really coming together
as a team and everyone is working hard.
