Nutrition
• Meals should happen 3-4 hours before the game.
• A simple snack is a whole wheat bagel with peanut butter, or a muffin with fruit should be eaten 2 hours prior to game.
Physical
• Do some sort of physical activity prior to coming to the rink; stickhandle, go for a bike ride, kick a soccer ball. It is important that you get moving long before the puck drops.
• Complete a dynamic warm-up
Mental
• On the way to the rink.......Ask yourself what is our team strategy, what is my role, what must I do to achieve team goals?
• After warm-up, engage in visualization and/or focus techniques.
