Game Plan Executed to Perfection
Wallaceburg came to town on Sunday. The Preds were as short staffed as you would want a Midget team to be. With 9 skaters, a plan was devised to conserve energy, put up a stingy defense, and take advantage of turnovers. The plan was executed to perfection, along with some timely goaltending, as the the score was 1-0 for Wallaceburg after 2 periods.
The Preds had ample opportunity to score off turnovers, but the Laker goaltender was equal to the task. Midway through the 3rd, Jamie Vance scored the equalizer on a slapshot off the rush. The AE's were given the green light to attack for the last 5 minutes to try to get the victory. Wallaceburg capitalized on the fatigue to claim the win, 2-1. A penalty free game, disciplined play within the system devised, and every ounce of energy spent was great for the coaches to see. This group can play with any team in the league.
