Bantam LL, 2016-2017 (Lambton Shores Minor Hockey)

The Preds really did a good job tonight. Especially in the 3rd period where they play was almost in the Aylmer end the whole time. Lots of pressure, good passing, 2 posts and a cross bar. Matt Broer stood his ground between the posts making some awesome saves.  A close on as we fell short 3-2. We face them again, game 2 in Forest next Saturday at 5:15pm. Come out and support our Team! I wanted to take a moment and congratulate the team on showing such strong improvement throughout the first half of the season. Every player has stepped up their game and is contributing in their own way. In particular, the team that blew us away early on in the season 11-1 took us into a sudden death overtime game in the John Henry tournament and the game ended in a 2-2 tie. I am very proud of how the team has showed guts and keep digging regardless of the scoreboard. As much as winning is the object of the game it is not the reason we play. Our team had a great tournament this weekend. We finished the round robin with 16 points advancing us to the "B" Final. We came up short but it was a great effort from everyone. Losing the final 2-0. All nail biter games and exciting to be a part of. Congratulations to Cayden Getty, Alicia Kewageshig, Tommy Huctwith and Andrew Tichenoff for receiving MVP of the game awards. Keep up the great work Preds!

Tonight the team showed great character. After coming off a big loss in game 4, the team bounced back and put on a great performance in game 5. They got 3 scramble goals in on us during the first period but after that the Preds played 2 periods of shutout hockey and kept it close with a 3-2 final. The team has a great never give up attitude and they helped each other out a lot tonight. Some players are stepping up their game to help out as well. It's great to be on the bench with this group of kids. Keep up the good work guys!

Well we are 2 games in and we are 1 and 1. A good start to the season. We are seeing some good things happening out on the ice and in the dressing room. The team is getting along well and having a good time so far. On the ice we are seeing some good hustle, both on the fore-check and the back check. Some nice passing out there and "D" involvement as well. Good goaltender support and team spirit. Keep it up Preds! Good things will keep happening  for us. Congratulations on a good start.
