Tournament Review: Gm 1 vs North Olmstead, OH: 6-1 W  At the Yost Arena, home of the Michigan Wolverines, the 7:00am start was perfect for the rural Lambton Shores kids.  The tenders split duties at the state of the art facility, lines got juggled for fun and Taylor F. was finally rewarded. Gm 2 vs Chelsea, MI: 2-2 T The curse of the second game in a day bent the Atoms, but character and a late Santavy marker kept them from breaking. The Atoms competed in the Forest Finals this weekend.  Lambton Shores reclassification put an extra challenge for the hockey club as they played in the 'B" division against centres of significant population difference.  The Atoms continued on their development path with a strong showing over 3 games.  The Atoms had leads, made comebacks, created quality scoring chances, minimized shot totals, got timely saves from their netminders, avoided penalty issues and competed at a level necessary for this tournament.  Congratulations Atoms, you continue to exceed expectations.  A well executed season ...

Coach Smith hopes the team is rested and ready to return to the rink after a restful holiday.  The month of January promises to be very busy.  The practice schedule switches to the January time slots (Mon: @ 5pm .....  Thurs @ 5:30pm.  Mondays are Powerskating/Goalie clinics ) Silver Stick Weekend is on the 25-27th weekend. OMHA Playdowns start on Jan. 29th and Feb 1st against South Huron.
