Tyke 1 Red Predators in first tournament this weekend!
What a great experience for our Tyke team this weekend. Thedford held the Tyke / Novice tournament and they made it to the A finals!!
Our kids have to be extremely proud of themselves on the way they played all weekend! I know the Moms, Dads, Grandmas, Grandpas and all the fans enjoyed watching their fast paced games each day.
We really started the weekend off pumped. I think Gangnam Style will be our team song for the rest of the season as the kids sure got fired up before they went out on the ice. The fire blazed in their eyes as they took on Lambeth N.Y Rangers and took the win! What an amazing defeat!
On to Saturday's game to play the other Lambton Shores Tyke team. The kids wanted to win this one as they wanted to show their friends how hard they've work all season. And win they did! It was a close game and had everyone on the edge of their seats, it was sure a nail biter! The kids even got to experience a penalty shot which was kind of cool. And Adam showed them that he wasn't afraid, he just knocked the puck down like he did the entire weekend!
The final A game on Sunday was a great game too against Dorchester. We sure had them in the first period, we were going head to head with them. But Dorchester was a strong team and just came out on top. Our kids should feel extremely good on how well they played all weekend! We'll get em next time!
The skills competition was fun too and Jack, Cole, Connor, Ava & Garrett did a great job representing our team in their area. Nice job kids!
The MVP awards during the 3 games went out to Jack Rombouts for an incredible display of passion and determination. Adam Delchiaro for the most incredible goal tending he did this weekend. I lost track of how many great saves he made! And to Cole Shaw for the perseverance he displayed in the last game as he tried to help out his teammates. Congratulations to our 3 boys and to the rest of the Tyke team for a job well done!
Our goal scorers this weekend were Mara, Connor, Taryn, Lily, Jack and Garrett. There were a plethora of goals coming from these kids but they certainly couldn't have done it without their team mates Brandon, Cole, Nash man, Owen, Brooklyn and Ava. We had amazing defense lines this tournament as well.
Thank you to the Kloske family for having the entire team come over to their house for some kid and parent bonding. With most of the team there, we all enjoyed the camaraderie. We'll likely be together for the next 10 or so years so it's nice to get to know each other better.
Special thanks to the coaches as well who display nothing but professionalism and good sportsmanship. An incredible positive influence for our children. Kudos to you!
