Golden Puck Wrap-up
The Lambton Shores Novice Predators traveled to Port Colborne to take part in the Golden Puck Tourney and came away with 1-2-1 record. An opening game loss to the host Port Colborne team and a final game loss to our neighbours from Strathroy on Sunday morning was overshadowed by a great Saturday.

Saturday morning at 8am the Preds took on the Paris Wolfpack and came out on the winning side of a 7-2 score. Ryan " Richie" Richardson and Ty"T-Bone"Rannie had 2 goals each to pace the team. Ryan" The Bull" Vaughan, Ben "Crazy Legs" George and Adam"Tich" Tichenoff added singles. Assists went to Carson"Shifty" Peters with 2, Hayley"Comet" Millar, and Logan "The Hammer" Mackenzie with one each.

The afternoon tilt was against the Erin Devils and did not start out well for the Preds. Erin jumped out to a 4-0 first period lead and the Preds looked a little lost. After some inspired words from the coaches about gut check time, and maybe a threat of closing the pool at the hotel from Henry, the players seemed to wake up. The Bull Vaughan got it started with a great effort out of the corner forcing his way to the net and jamming in his own rebound. With a 3 goal deficit and only 10 minutes to play the Preds really stepped up the play. Richie scored with 6:29 remaining with Crazy Legs picking up the assist and you could tell on the bench that the players started to believe the could come back. Tyler"Shots" Stanton was johnny-on-the-spot poking a rebound into the open net with The Bull and Richie assisting and it was a one goal game. Ten seconds later Crazy Legs scored to tie the game with T-Bone getting the assist. Erin held on for the last 3 minutes to preserve the tie, but the Preds showed themselves that they can comeback and compete even if they get down early. Ethan"Pipes" Everaert held us in the game after the first to enable the team to complete the comeback. Exciting game to play, coach and watch!

After the game the team enjoyed some bonding time with a few hours in the pool, a team meal and arcade session at Boston pizza and some hallway tag and mini sticks at the hotel. All the players went home smiling!!
