Busy Weekend
The Novice Predators had a busy weekend with 4 games in 4 days last week. They came out with a 2-1-1 record as they continue to inch towards a .500 season record.

The Preds opened the weekend with a home date with the Mooretown Storm. The home team found themselves down 2-0 early but with their new found confidence came back and ended up winning 7-4. Ryan"Richie" Richardson and Ty "T-Bone"Rannie had two goals apiece while Tyler"Shots" Stanton, Ryan"The Bull" Vaughan and Ben"Crazy Legs" George notched singles. Assists went to Shots, Logan"The Hammer" Mackenzie, The Bull, Adam "Tich" Tichenoff and Richie.
The Hard hat for Pred of the Game went to Hayley"Comet" Millar for her tenacious defence and hard work in our end and at the blue line.

Saturday the team traveled to Dresden and were the opening act of four straight Lambton Shores Rep games, Novice, Atom, Peewee and Bantam.  The Novice Preds got the ball rolling for the Lambton Shores contingent with an exciting 4-3 win in a back and forth game. Carson "Shifty" Peters scored 2 goals including the breakaway winner late in the third period. Crazy Legs George and The Hammer Mackenzie notched singles, while T-Bone and Richie had 2 assists each and The Bull added one. Pipes Everaert was a star down the stretch with a highlight reel glove save and a breakaway stop to preserve the win and earn the Hard Hat.

The road trip continued on Sunday in Watford and the team as a whole came out a little flat. The team from East Lambton took the play to us and if not for some solid goaltending and late game heroics we would have lost. The final score was 3-3 after Pipes was pulled for the extra attacker and the Bull put home his second of the game with time winding down. Richie assisted on The Bulls goal and added one of his own. Bull also assisted on Richies goal for a 3 point night and earned the Hard Hat for Pred of the game.

The last stop in our trip was the North Middlesex arena for a Monday night date with the Stars. The players were warned about coming out flat against this determined squad and it ended up biting us in the butt as we lost 4-3. The Preds controlled the play pretty well but the Stars kept driving at the net and were able to hold on for the win, with the help of a curfew and some interesting penalty calls. With the the Preds holding a slim one goal lead they were called for 3 minor penalties in a 2 minute span including one to the Hammer for skating near a player as he fell. Crazy Legs George and T-Bone Rannie had a goal and an assist each and Shifty Peters had 2 assists. The Hammer also scored for the Preds. T-Bone earned the Hard Hat tonight for his persistent  back checking and his work on the penalty kill.
