Predators Attack
The Thamesford Attack paid a visit to the Predators den on Friday night and found a beast of a team waiting for them. The Novice Preds continued their improved play on home ice and won their second straight at home 6-0. Ty "T-Bone" Rannie scored 22 seconds into the game and that was all the scoring the Preds would need as Ethan " Pipes" Everaert shut the door for his second shut out of the season.
The Preds defensive corps deserves a lot of credit for the win as Eric "Big Bird" Burget, Hayley "Comet" Millar, Ty "Bomb" Wright, and Bryce "Laker" Stanlake limited the chances of the Attack and cleared away traffic for Pipes to smother any rebounds.
Scoring for the Preds were T-Bone with the hat trick, Tyler "Shots" Stanton and Carson "Shifty" Peters with a goal and an assist each, and Ryan "Richie" Richardson. Ryan "The Bull" Vaughan and Logan "The Hammer" Mackenzie each picked up a helper.
A good strong team effort from everyone and solid goaltending is a recipe to make any coaching staff happy! Laker Stanlake picked up the hard hat honours tonight for Pred of the game for his steady work on the blue line.
On a side note, before the game, the coach put out a charity challenge to the team, offering to donate a $2 to the Atom Reps "Toonie for Toys" drive for every goal scored in our next two league games. The rest of the coaching staff offered to match the donation (Comet threw her dad under the bus as he was not present) and the team raised $60 for the cause!! Way to Go Guys!
