Bombed by the Jets
The Lambton Shores Novice Predators flew into Ilderton just in time to watch the Jets take off. Problem was we were supposed to be playing a hockey game against them. In what can be described as an off night for the Preds, the team from I-dot took advantage and laid a beating on us 8-1.

The first period was fairly even with Ilderton scoring with a little better than 3 minutes remaining and again with 32 seconds left on the clock. Ethan "Pipes" Everaert stood tall in the first under intense pressure from the Jets. Ryan "Richie" Richardson gave the Preds a glimmer of hope when he netted one with 16 seconds left in the frame but Ilderton answered right back with 2 seconds left. Those last second goals are a habit we are going to have to get rid of going forward. Ryan " the Bull" Vaughan and Tyler "Shots" Stanton added assists on Richie's goal as both forwards stayed hot getting 4 points each in the last 3 games.

From there on out the game were glimpses of a decent hockey game mixed in with dominance from Ilderton as the Jets added 3 more in the 2nd and 2 in the 3rd. The Preds battled hard on a night when you could tell that the Ilderton players wanted to pad their stats and we just didn't have the legs. Had we scored on every shot we had on net tonight we would have still lost 8-3. It was a lesson for the team that you can't just show up against a team like Ilderton and expect a close game, you have to work hard and win battles in all areas of the ice.

A bright light in the game was the play of Carson " Shifty " Peters who won the coveted Hard Hat for Pred of the game. Shifty was all over the ice tonight fighting for the puck like a madman. I think Henry's plan of putting all six kids at the table and only 5 pork chops is working! Nice work Shifty, keep it up!
