First Home Win!
The Novice Predators chalked up their first home win of the season Friday night against a very determined North Middlesex Stars team. The Preds pulled out a convincing 4-1 victory in front of a win starved home crowd. The home team rode strong position play and good old fashioned hard work enroute to the victory.

Tyler "Shots" Stanton opened the scoring in the first period when he knocked in Ryan "the Bull" Vaughans rebound. The goal got the team off to the start we wanted but also emphasized the coaching staffs point about going to the net and not stopping until the whistle blows. In the second period the same two players combined for the next goal but this time it was Shots Stanton clearing the puck and The Bull Vaughan beating the Stars player to the puck and poking it through the goaltenders legs. A plain old "Ugly" goal, pure hustle and hard work, nothing fancy.
In the 3rd period the Captain, Ryan "Richie" Richardson took over and dominated the play getting several chances and finally cashing in just after the 8 min. mark on a great individual effort. Ty "T-Bone" Rannie added another less than 2 minutes later on the breakaway, assisted by Carson "Shifty" Peters and Bryce "Laker " Stanlake.
Ethan "Pipes" Everaert had his shut out broken with 37 seconds left on the clock but played a stellar game keeping his team in it early when the score was close.
A great game for the team with four different goals: a rebound for Shots, an "Ugly Hustle" goal for The Bull, a shifty dangle for Richie, and a breakaway for T-Bone that highlighted how the breakout of our own zone can translate into offence.
Adam "Tich" Tichenoff earned the Hard hat for Pred of the game for his tenacious work with and without the puck tonight. Tich led the team in forcing turnovers and battled hard along the boards all game long.
