Blenheim Blowout
The Lambton Shores Predators Novice Rep team learned the hard way Friday night that you cannot play against a top team like Blenheim without putting in a full effort. The Bruins came to town and at times looked like their locked out counterparts from Boston in a 10-2 thrashing of the Preds.
The Bruins jumped out to a 2-0 start before Ryan" Richie" Richardson notched one to give the Preds some hope, but the visitors scored a buzzer beater with 0.1 seconds left in the first period. The last second goal seemed to take the wind out of the Preds sails and for the most part they became spectators for the second period as Blenheim racked up 4 more goals including another buzzer beater with 3 secs. left. Richie was able to add his second of the game after some hard work by Logan Mackenzie at the line to force a turnover.
The Bruins added 3 more in the third to emphasize their point that you cannot play a team as talented as they are without putting in the hard work all over the ice. Point taken! The Preds will get back at practice this week and continue our mission to get better as the season progresses.
Logan " the Hammer" Mackenzie took home the hard hat as the Pred of the game for his hard work tonight. His effort to fight for the puck at the blueline and set up Richies second goal is an example of the effort the team needs on every shift as we work our way through the rest of the season.
