Christmas Cheer
Submitted By jdecaluwe on Sunday, December 30, 2012
I will start by saying WHAT A GREAT JOB the NOVICE RED team is doing.  The team is learning to play as a team in their positions, how to use the boards and hold the line. Each game the coaching staff sees improvements

Our last three games are in the win column, all three games with a different goalie between the pipes (Colton, Spencer & Chad), shows their talent in and out of net.  With three players playing net I count on Curtis to fill the spot for me, he does it without complaint and does a great job at whatever we ask him to do.  After the goalie, our next line of defense is of course our D. Our D have been doing a suburb job at holding the line, clearing the house and the back checking is second to none.  They don’t give up, they stay after them just to get that small piece of the puck to take away their scoring chance.  For a coach it is a beautiful thing to see. Keep it up.

Forwards have improved a lot in the last few games.  There is almost always somebody in front of the net with their stick on the ice(Mason, Logan, Turner), usually 2 players on the puck and crashing the net has been excellent.  Jack’s puck handling in the last two games has been his best of the year.  And ultimately to win games with everything said above you still need goals. In two games we scored 13 goals

Heyden with 6 goals, Jorja with 3 goals, and singles from Mason, Brett, Alex and Jack

Helpers from Brett, Heyden, Jack, Logan and Ky-leigh

Finally I would like to say thanks to everyone for a fun Christmas party.  Thanks to the parents who brought stuff for everyone to enjoy.  Thanks to Shawn for letting us use the room, it worked great.  And thanks to the players because without you it wouldn’t have happen.

Happy New Year
