Complete Team Effort
The Atoms traveled to Dresden for a rematch dating back to preseason. The coaches described this tussle as the most complete game for the team thusfar. Coach Smith outlined today's game plan and keys to team success. Each team member responded with skillful play, quality decison making and an uptempo intensity. The Preds dominated the puck possesion ratio, limited quality chances for Dresden and our netminder made the saves needed to get the victory. Bright, Tichenoff, Delcaluwe and Leyten got today's markers with a break away, top cheese, patient deke and a scramble goal.
Quality rushes from Cornelious and George, combined with good puck handling and position from Garside, Harper and Waters increased our offensive threat and limited Wheat King opportunities. Santavy was tenacious on the puck, and Fisher and Getty passed effectively to maintain puck possesion. Schoonjans and Smitty provided quality puck movement and back pressure. Ty R. got another 'W' with excellent rebound control.
It was a complete team effort that earned a 4-1 victory.
