AtoMc Black Turns Their Season Around in a Big Way…. 'A' CHAMPS
AtoMc Black headed into the Lambton Shores Local League Tournament this past weekend still looking for our team’s first victory of the year.

AtoMc Black started the tournament off against the Belle River Warriors. With an early goal to start the game, things where looking good for the Predators, but Belle River would comeback hard to even the score at 2–2 after the first period. AtoMc Black would continue to work hard all game, but would be unable to find a way to beat the Belle River goalie and would end up losing 6–2.

With game 1 behind them, and the Mitchell Meteors waiting for them in Game 2, this group of kids would really have to step up their game with word they wouldn’t have their goalie between the pipes. Carson Brown stepped up and showed what it really means to be a team player by strapping on the goalie equipment for the game. The kids all came together to play their best game of the year with a dominating and complete all-around game from start to finish. The game finished in a 1–1 tie, but only because of the outstanding effort from the Mitchell goalie.

With their tournament life on the line and the elimination game against the Cayuga Stars awaiting them, the kids stuck together and with their goalie back between the pipes, the AtoMc Black players hit the ice and wouldn’t be denied their first victory of the year with a solid performance from everyone in a 4–2 win.

With a semi-final rematch game against the #1 seeded team from Belle River awaiting them, the AtoMc Black players came together and gained more confidence in each other as a team. The game went back and forth with the score tied 3–3 at the end of regulation time and overtime looming. Every AtoMc Black player had to step up their game to compete at the level of play needed to help lead them to an amazing and exciting double overtime victory.

The ‘A’ Championship game now in their sights and fast approaching. It would see a match up against the other Predators Local League team, AtoMc Red. This game would decide the tournament winner.

Every AtoMc Black player’s mental strength would be tested once again with word that their goalie was not well enough to play but when asked to put the pads on and help his team out Adam Delchiaro was more than just willing he was up for the challenge. From the drop of the puck it was evident that this group of players were willing to do whatever it was going to take to win this Championship. With another complete effort from start to finish from every player on the team, the AtoMc Black would skate to a 4–0 victory and the ‘A’ Championship!

Congratulations to all the AtoMc Black Players! All your hard work at practice is finally starting to pay off. Keep up the great work and it will be an amazing hockey season filled with lots more memories and fun times together.

We are all very proud of you and your accomplishment!
