Volunteering in the LSMHA
Without the help of amazing volunteers like you, we wouldn't be able to have a successful hockey season!

All families will be required to complete 2 (4 hour) volunteer positions in order to ensure that our organization continues to run smoothly. These volunteer shifts must be completed by April 30th. Volunteer cheques will not be cashed as long volunteer requirements are met. Note: working the time clock does NOT qualify as volunteer hours; time clock / game sheet help are requirements in order to ensure that each team can function.

When volunteer opportunities become available, there will be a news article posted on the LSMHA website which will contain a sign up genius link that you can use to sign up for volunteer jobs.

Each and every season is unique. With that in mind, we’d like to share a general overview of when volunteer opportunities typically arise throughout the season. While dates and needs may vary year to year, this gives a helpful snapshot of what to expect:

Spring

  • Tryouts & Pre-Skate Helpers

September

  • Forest Fall Fair

November / December

  • U15 LL Regional Silver Stick

January

  • U15 Rep & U18 Rep International Silver Stick
  • U11 Rep & U13 Rep International Silver Stick

February

  • U9 LL Regional Silver Stick

April

  • Awards Banquet
  • Annual General Meeting

As you can see, many of our volunteer opportunities take place in the latter part of the season. We truly appreciate everyone’s eagerness to help and get involved. Please rest assured that everyone will have an opportunity to work off their two volunteer cheques!

Thank you so much for your continued support and involvement — we are incredibly grateful for the time and effort our families give to LSMHA. We couldn’t do this without you, and we truly appreciate all that you do!
