Well it was an up and down weekend for the Novice Red
team. Saturday was a game against East
Lambton Eagles black team, the Preds showed they were due for a win.
The first shift of the game VanGorp put in a hat trick and there was no looking back. VanGorp put in another three plus goals from DeCaluwe, Zavitz-low, Dickey and George for our first victory. Wellington received his first shut-out of the season. It was a great game by the entire team.
Our second game’s result was not what the team deserved with a 5-1 loss to the Mt. Brydges gold team. The team played very well with the puck spending a lot of the time in the other teams end but could only put 1 in the net from George. The team never stopped trying the entire game. The bench staff is very pleased in the improvement in the whole team, they don’t stop skating, they don’t give up, they are fighting for the puck, they are going to the net for that rebound and the back checking was awesome today. I know some times it looks like I am mad but it is more of a frustration not at the kids but at the hockey gods because of the effort this team has put in our record does not show it, IT WILL COME!!!
