The season
started off slow for this group of young kids but even though they weren’t able
to find any victories, they never got discouraged. They continued to work hard
at practice and in mid- November all that hard work finally paid off for them
when they were able to WIN the “A” Championship at the Atom L.L. Lambton Shores
Tournament.
This team may not of had as much talent as most of the teams the played against but one things they did have was a willingness to compete and out work most of the teams they played. With this type of effort game in and game out they were able to become competitive each and every time they stepped on the ice throughout the hockey season.
Matched up against the strong Mt. Brydges Blue in the first round of playoffs, this group of kids would battle each and every game but eventually they would lose out in game #5 after a very hard fought series.
AtoMc Black would head to Lucknow for a tournament as a team one last time before calling it a season. With something to prove, the kids would put together 3 of their best games of the hockey this season and would skate away with the “A” Championship once again.
The coaching staff would like to commend this group of kids on all their hard work, team play, but most of all their professionalism and respect on and off the ice throughout the season. You are truly a great group of kids and it was a very exciting year, with lots of great memories.
