A TEAM TO BE PROUD OF
The table was set, the trophy was there.....
But on this day it wasn't meant to be. A team that was built on dedication, hard work and commitment this team did not disappoint. As mentioned in the pregame talk by Coach Dickey "No matter what happens on the ice today hold your head up high and be proud of the players and young people you have become through out this season". I once heard a successful season isn't measured in the mighty "W". Although its nice to win I've learned this year its just as satisfying watching your team battle hard and leaving everything out on the ice.
Championship game.... first 6 minutes into the game we find ourselves down 4-0. After a suggested timeout I watched a team not only battle hard and not give up, but a team win the next 29 minutes 1-0. This speaks volumes to the players and their heart and determination. The Trophy wasn't ours to take home, but for me you guys are my trophy. You have all worked hard throughout the year and improved so much. When this group keeps meeting up every couple years things will start to sort itself out. Thanks to all the players and the parents for a great year, its truly been an honor teaching and coach your kids.
