Great Start to the Season
The Lambton Shores Predators Atom Rep team has had a great start to the '13-'14 campaign. With a 3-2-1 record and every game being close, the team has come together quickly.
The Preds started out on the road with a tie with Thamesford and had a close one goal loss to Belmont for their home opener. In that game the team found themselves down 4-0 early in the game, fighting what may have been a little post fair "hangover" since Coach Greg spotted most of the team out late the night before. They showed a lot of heart battling back to make a game of it and almost tying the game late.
The Preds then reeled off their first winning streak of 3 games with wins over rivals Lucan, Ilderton and Belmont. They closed out the first portion of the season with an exciting game with undefeated North Middlesex and came out on the short end of a 3-2 decision. Although the young Preds lost the game, they showed a lot of determination and really gave the much larger North Middlesex team a run for their money.
The Preds are done with league play now until Oct. 25th when we get a rematch with North Middlesex in Parkhill. Next up, a solid week of practice and off to our first tournament of the year in St. George for the Jack Tolhurst Memorial Tournament.
As Coach Greg would say "Phenomenal job Gang, Let's go for the W!!"
